As one who served as a contemporary infantry officer to LTC Tomes, this book brings back vivid memories of the events and characters one encounters during a tenure in the military, however brief it may be. The characters living in its pages are drawn from the author’s experience and at once are recognizable wherever one has served. I just finished reading JAGC-Off. I have to say I loved it. Thank you for writing such a humorous account of so many interesting cases. I won the book here on goodreads. Thanks for the autographed copy. I will cherish it forever. . . . I was very grateful that you explained the military terms and slang in the book so well. I was a bit afraid that I would miss some things since I didn’t have a military or law background. But you really did make it accessible to everyone, and it was a great read. . . . After reading the first few pages I was hooked. This book is witty and fascinating. Military Law does not seem like it would make for a particularly humorous read but JAGC-OFF makes it so. The cases are incredible and the tactics used to win cases is genius. I really loved how the author takes the time to explain the Military slang and abbreviations. It’s written in a way that even those not versed in military jargon or with a law degree can easily understand. I finished JAGC-Off yesterday and really enjoyed it. I was also surprised at how entertaining and funny the book was. Thought it would be much drier. I suspect that “Dragnet” applies here. The stories are basically true, but the names have been changed to protect the innocent or guilty. I remember talking with you years ago about the survey report on the M-16s and also about tailing someone in Baltimore plus going to Japan.
