HIPAA Compliance Hands-on Workshop Survivors, Congratulations and Thanks! HIPAA & HITECH Act Blog by Jonathan P. Tomes with Guest Commentator Patrick R. Head II, Veterans Press and EMR Legal Director of Marketing

EMR Legal and Veterans Press would like to congratulate and thank all the survivors of the first ever Complete HIPAA Compliance: Hands-on Workshop, conducted May 9-10, 2013, in Kansas City. First, congratulations on completing your Gap Analysis Survey Questionnaire, discussing your particular situation with us, and making good forward progress turning your Gap Analysis results into your Risk Analysis, as required by HIPAA. Second, thanks for your participation and your helpful comments, questions, and concerns during the two days that we spent together. We also appreciate the kind comments on the course critiques.

We trust that our attendees will find useful back at work the guidance that Jonathan P. Tomes and Richard D. Dvorak gave on completing and using the Gap Analysis and Risk Analysis, that Mike Bosch gave on penetration testing and offensive security, and that Alice M. McCart gave on effective policy writing and implementation.

We have received requests to present this two-day HIPAA hands-on workshop at least annually in the Kansas City area. We would also like to present it in various areas around the country. So if you are interested in scheduling in your area a unique HIPAA compliance workshop, complete with Gap Analysis, Risk Analysis, sample policies and procedures, and experts to help you figure out what to do in your situation, please email me at Patrick@veteranspress.com. We are ready to take this new two-day HIPAA compliance hands-on workshop on the road soon.
